La veille de la premi\u00e8re, elle insulte Dillon qui du coup refuse de continuer \u00e0 financer le spectacle \u00e0 moins que Dorothy n&rsquo;en soit renvoy\u00e9e. Dillon consent par la suite \u00e0 se contenter des excuses de Dorothy. Cette derni\u00e8re se brise une cheville. Qui va donc pouvoir la remplacer ? Ann qui a remplac\u00e9 Dorothy aupr\u00e8s de Dillon est candidate, mais Marsh la juge incapable d&rsquo;assurer le spectacle. Il choisit Peggy. Le jeune Billy Lawler assure Peggy de tout son amour.
